"Jim at Yellowstone Tour Guides was a phenomenal host and guide. His knowledge of and passion for YNP is contagious. Jim provided an outstanding winter wildlife safari from BZN. Not only did we have a great overview of the northern loop of the park, but we saw ample wildlife along the way, including golden and bald eagles, wolves, endless bison, elk, mule/whitetail, and pronghorn herds, bighorn sheep, a fox, a black bear den, and more. Thanks to Yellowstone Tour Guides for a fun and memorable adventure!"

"My husband and I (both in our 70s) took a 7-day winter tour of Yellowstone in January 2024. Someone had told us that Yellowstone in the Winter was the best trip they had ever taken, so we wanted to try it. We found Yellowstone Tour Guides online and made contact with Phil. Phil was wonderful...he helped us plan every step of our trip and answered all our questions. Jim was our tour guide and he was easy to get along with, very knowledgeable, respectful, and accommodating for us "old" folks. He was a careful driver and knew how to handle the snow and ice, which was important because we are from Alabama and not familiar with wintry roadways. We experienced beautiful sunrises with snowy mist/fog, and we saw 21 different wild animals (including a Mountain Lion). Phil and Jim worked with us in making last minute changes to our itinerary due to weather changes. They were able to "throw together" a guided fly-fishing trip for us on the Yellowstone River, and we were able to work-in two trips to the hot springs for soaks. We also had a guided snow mobile trip outside the Park that was exhilarating . We saw Old Faithful doing her majestic thing in a snowstorm which was breathtaking. We spent our last two nights in Jackson Hole where Jim arranged a horse-drawn sleigh ride in the Tetons. I can wholeheartedly recommend Yellowstone Tour Guides to plan a Winter Tour for a wonderful trip of a lifetime."

"This was our first trip to Yellowstone, and we initially did not know where to start since the park is so big and diverse. We had researched Yellowstone tour guides (and there are a lot) and decided on Yellowstone Tour Guides based on the glowing reviews. We did our own quick tour on our first day in the park, a Monday, and just wandered around the North Loop but not very far. Our Yellowstone tour was scheduled for Tuesday, and Jim met us at our RV campground in West Yellowstone promptly at 6:00 am and we breezed into the West Gate with no traffic in sight. We were most interested in the geology - volcano caldera, geysers, steam vents, mud pots, hot springs, etc., and the ecology - bison, elk, mountain goats, grizzlies, black bears, big horn sheep, mule deer, white-tail deer, moose and wolves. We saw everything listed EXCEPT moose and wolves - maybe next time. Our tour was for the South Loop which has most of the iconic Yellowstone locations like Old Faithful, the Yellowstone Grand Canyon, Gibbons Falls, and the Yellowstone Inn on Yellowstone Lake, which reminded us of Puget Sound near Seattle. Jim was super knowledgeable about the park and even with my geology background, we would not have recognized the difference in the volcano caldera and just a mountain ridge. It was exciting to know when we entered and exited the caldera which covers 1,500 square miles! Jim grew up in Montana and has more than 30 years of experience with Yellowstone Tour Guides and it showed in his knowledge. We pelted him with questions, and he always had the answer and more information than we could have expected. Jim even told us about scientific research of hot springs bacteria that is being used by NASA in the search for extraterrestrial life. Jim told us so much, information that we wished we could have had a transcript of what he said! Jim even gave us information about the North Loop that we used when we toured the North Loop on our own. If we had not used Yellowstone Tour Guides and Jim for our South Loop tour, I think we have just blindly driven around the park and just followed signs to the iconic locations. Jim was able to take us to some out-of-the-way locations that we would have probably just driven by. Jim returned us to our RV campground at 2:30 pm so our tour was over 8 hours, which still seemed too short since there is so much to see at Yellowstone. We spent a total of 9 days in the park and feel like we saw most everything thanks to Jim and Yellowstone Tour Guides."

"We were trying to find a private tour guide for our trip to Yellowstone. I was very hesitant being located in Massachusetts speaking to them in Montana. After several conversations on Facebook messenger and phone calls, I decided to book the trip with them. All I can say is, I’m so glad we did. It was the most stress-free trip I have ever taken. Our guide Scott was absolutely phenomenal. They take care of booking all the hotels for you as well. Scott was very knowledgeable with everything on time and is driving was impeccable. I love the fact they are a mom and pop company with 30 years of guiding. I highly recommend them and can’t wait to use them again. I would love to go to glacier national Park next. Keep doing what you’re doing. You can see the love that that Scott has for his job. Thanks so much. The Parent family!"

"Our tour guides (Jim and Scott) were very knowledgeable and professional. In our kids words “they explained everything really thoroughly. They made sure that we got up early to see all the things we needed to see. They were very funny and we didn’t get bored! I will give them a 10/10”. We highly recommend them for visits to Yellowstone or the Grand Tetons."
