Summer Sightseeing
Yellowstone Tour Guides offers daily sightseeing tours from West Yellowstone, MT; Big Sky, MT; Bozeman, MT along with Old Faithful and Canyon in the park.
We use SUV’s, such as Suburban’s and Expeditions, to allow us easier travel through the park, the ability to get off the road and stop at just about any wildlife sighting, for parking in the often- full parking lots at the attractions and for a more personalized tour. We do often run 2 or more vehicles for larger groups.
Our expert guides have been guiding in Yellowstone for 18 to 34 years each, giving us one of the more experienced guide teams found in the Yellowstone Ecosystem. Our guides attend trainings and seminars every year to continue their education.
Yellowstone is a very complex park and is home to one of the largest volcanic systems in the world, including over half of the world’s thermal activity. A fascinating history, as it is the World’s first national park. The unique hot spring biology has led to some of the biggest scientific discoveries, including DNA testing. With the park being set aside before westward expansion, it is also home to one of the wildest landscapes left on the planet.
Join us to learn more, and to see more than you can on your own. So join us and six back and relax, while enjoying the scenery and learning about how unique this park really is.
1 or 2 Day Adventures
Available from the 3rd Friday in April through October 31st.
By popular demand, we have split the Lower Loop into 2 separate full day trips. This allows us to see more, get out of the vehicle more and to spend less time driving. We will still be offering the Lower Loop as a single day trip for those who only want to spend a day in this area. Each tour is about 8 hours from West Yellowstone or 10 hours from Big Sky.
The following tours are available from mid-April through October 31st unless otherwise noted. (note: the Geyser Fields and Central Yellowstone start June 1st).
Rates for the following tours are:
The Lower Loop Adventure

Tour highlights include Rustic Falls, the Golden Gate Canyon and Bridge, Mammoth Hot Springs, Upper Terrace Drive, Undine Falls, the Petrified Tree, Tower Falls, the Lamar Valley and Dunraven Pass (if open).

3 Day options
Available from May 15th through October 31st
There is so much to see and do, that 2 days are not enough, and we have split the park into 3 full day trips. These tours can be done as individual or as a 3 day package.
The Geysers of Yellowstone
This tour is named after one of our retired guides, T. Scott Bryan, who wrote the book, Geysers of Yellowstone. This tour involves more walking and touring of the park’s famed geyser basins.
Tour Highlights include: Firehole Canyon, Firehole Falls, the Fountain Paint Pots, Firehole Lake Drive, Grand Prismatic Spring, Old Faithful Geyser, the Old Faithful Inn, Black Sand Basin, the Keppler Cascades and West Thumb Geyser Basin. We will also try to catch some of Yellowstone’s larger and less frequent geysers.
The Upper Loop/ Wildlife Safari
Because of the distance to and from the Upper Loop, this tour is the same as the 2 day version of the Upper Loop. Tour Highlights include Rustic Falls, The Golden Gate Canyon and Bridge, Mammoth Hot Springs, Upper Terrace Drive, Undine Falls, the Petrified Tree, Lamar Valley and Dunraven Pass.
The Heart of Yellowstone
On this day we will focus on the central portion of Yellowstone, including the East Entrance for its scenery and wildlife. Tour Highlights include Gibbon Falls, the Virginia Cascades, the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, Lower Falls, Upper Falls, Crystal Falls, the Hayden Valley, the Mud Volcano, Yellowstone Lake, the Lake Hotel, Lake Butte Drive, and more time permitting such as Norris Geyser Basin or the Artist’s Paint Pots.

NOTES: All 2 or 3 day tours do not include the park entrance fees, meals or guide’s gratuities.
We do not include meals as it is a cost we would pass on to you and we have found ½ of the food is thrown away. We do provide coolers on the vehicles for those who do bring a lunch.
Keep in mind 7 people can be tight in SUV’s and we recommend no more than 6 people per vehicle. We do allow 7 people per vehicle for those who have kids or don’t mind the tighter seating in the back.
We do honor all valid National Park Passes. Most passes will cover the pass holder and up to 3 adults. Kids 15 and under are free. If you do not have a pass, we recommend waiting until you first enter the park, as the guides can help you determine if you qualify for a discounted pass.
Non-Yellowstone Park Day Tours
The Beartooth Highway
Available from Memorial Day weekend through October 1st.
One of the often-overlooked hidden gems of the Yellowstone Ecosystem, is the Beartooth Highway. The roadway is considered one of the most scenic in the US, and is Montana and Wyoming’s highest road, climbing to almost 11,000 feet. The scenery is outstanding, and you will be traveling several miles above tree-line. Keep an eye out for mountain goats, who are often below you. Please note due to the distance of this tour, there is no Yellowstone sightseeing.
Although we do offer this tour as a one day trip, because of the distance, we recommend a two day trip, with a night at Red Lodge, MT or Cody, WY, your choice. 2 day trips may return via the equally-scenic Chief Joseph Highway or East Entrance Road.

Virginia City National Historic Landmark
Available year round from West Yellowstone, Bozeman and Big Sky
Join us on a tour where the West comes alive, traveling to one of the best-preserved ghost towns, Virginia City, MT. When a gold rush would end, and a new one would begin, the miners would leave everything behind, so they could get to the gold rush site for the best claims. What makes Virginia City so unique, is the Bovey family remained behind, and prevented the looting of the dozens of mining buildings. Each building is stocked from floor to ceiling with 1860’s antiques. You will learn the stories behind the gold rush, the murders, hangings and vigilantes.
This tour will also visit the Earthquake Lake formed the night the mountain fell after the large 1959 earthquake. The massive slide is still visible today. You will hear the stories of those who survived that scary night, along with those who didn’t.
