Sleeping Giant Ski Area, WY
has the self-proclaimed “world’s slowest double chair”
Nestled next to Yellowstone’s East Entrance, the drive up to the hill offers great scenery and awesome wildlife. What kind of wildlife you ask? Mule Deer, elk, bison and bighorn sheep are common. Coyotes, wolves and moose are possible as well.
The ski area itself has views of Yellowstone Park, and 3 lifts, a triple, double and magic carpet. With about 200 acres, vertical of 900’ seems small, but skis big, and lacks the crowds. Most major ski areas will have lift lines with more people than you will find on the hill at Sleeping Giant.
